Who Should Attend?

Operators who operate an Excavator as part of their work and are in need of certification.

Are you a New or Skilled Operator?

Skilled Operator:  has at least 100 hours of recent experience operating an excavator.

The skilled operator will demonstrate their ability to operate the excavator safely and efficiently through a series of driving and operating exercises. Practical assessments take approximately 20-30 minutes.

Skilled operators may complete certification on multiple pieces of equipment on the same day through our Powered Mobile Equipment Program.

New Operator: does not have over 100 hours of recent experience operating an excavator. This course is intended for those needing the training required to meet the basic and knowledge to operate an excavator safely.

They will gain about 2-3 hours of operating experience on the equipment; demonstrating their ability to operate it safely and efficiently through a series of driving and operating exercises.

The practical portion includes demonstrating the ability to safely
maneuver the excavator through a series of obstacles and use the attachment.

Course Details

Length: Theory: Two – Three hours – Practical will depend on if you are a skilled, or new operator

Certificate: Valid for three years

Prerequisite: None

Cost: Skilled – $225.00. New – $625.00 +gst

Note: Smaller class sizes may result in the student taking the theory in our computer lab with the instructor present to monitor and assist the student. Practical components will be taught in-person with the guidance and supervision of the instructor.

Ground Disturbance II

This one-day program is designed for any party that is supervising a Ground Disturbance, independently performing a Ground Disturbance, or issuing and receiving Ground Disturbance permits.

Wheel Loader

A Wheel Loader is sometimes referred to as a Front-End Loader, or Articulating Loader and can be operated with multiple attachments including a bucket, forks, grapple, or brooms.

Variable Reach Lift Truck

A Variable Reach Lift Truck (VRLT) is a Class VII Rough Terrain Lift Truck and is sometimes referred to as a Telescopic Handler, Telehandler or Zoom Boom.
