Program Intent:
Upon successful completion of the elevating (aerial) work platform certification course (EWP) the learner will be able to demonstrate an awareness of the purpose, function and basic concepts of operation of work platforms. The course will contain the basic operational principles for both the vertical aerial platform (scissor lift) and the boom-supported aerial platform. Both powered platforms will be available for students to use during the practical portion of the instruction. To receive the elevated work platform certification, participants must successfully navigate through a predetermined course on both machines. Students will be taught what to look for in the operators manual and will be encouraged to familiarize themselves with the specific machine that they will be operating at their worksite. The elevating (aerial) work platforms course is offered at Western Canada Fire & First Aid's training facility in Edmonton, Alberta or onsite at your location for a minimum number of students.
