Program Intent
The CSA standard (B335-04) as per clause 6.21.2 recommends
that employers conduct a midterm evaluation after 18
months from either initial training or re-training.
Who Should Attend
All persons who operate lift trucks 18 months after
initial training or retraining. To qualify you must
hold a current certificate.
Course Content
This 4 hour course is designed to review and re-evaluate
operators on practical skills. We will conduct a quick
review of practical skills theory such as the dynamics
of moving loads, stabilities, and conducting preoperational
inspections. Hands on practical skills will be re-evaluated
by maneuvering through and pre-determined obstacle course
safely. The key purpose of this evaluation is to provide
feedback to operators and employers. A general description
of the course outline is as follows:
- Preoperational Inspection
- Start-up Procedures
- Pedestrian Safety
- Traveling with and without Loads
- Load Handling including: Selection, Placement,
Stacking, De-stacking
- Docks, Trucks, & Railcar Concerns
- Personal Lifting
- Using Elevators
- Shutdown Procedures
- Refueling & Recharging
- Practical Skills Re-Evaluation (Class IV Sit-Down Counterbalanced Lift Truck)
